Gaderska valley

Gaderská valley (18 km long) lies in the western part of the Veľká Fatra mountain range and creates one of the jewels of Slovak nature. Every visitor appreciates a lot of rare natural formations and beautiful recesses situated in a relatively small area. Well known are the Gader caves and very rich flora. In thick woods there are abundant herds of animals like deers, boars, chamois, bears and predatory birds, including eagles. Along the whole valley there flows a clear stream. The valley is accesible for each visitor.
The entrance into the valley is created by the village Blatnica, situated 15 km to the south of the town Martin and 13 km to the north of the spa Turčianske Teplice.

Great Fatra

It occupies the eastern part of the region. In the east it is bordered to the Low Tatras, Liptovská Basin and Choc Mountains in the north Orava Highlands and Krivánska Fatra, Turčianska Basin in the west, the south Kremnicke hills. Martin

Martin is the center of the region Turiec, once the seat of the county, district today with more than 60,000 inhabitants. It was first mentioned in 1284. City rights were granted to Martin in 1340, but until the 19th century had the character of a small provincial town. The real center of Slovak national life became in the 60s of the 19th century. In 1861 there was the memorial site under the lime trees adopted Memorandum of the Slovak Nation, which called for the recognition of self-governing territory of Slovakia. In 1863 was founded Slovak Matica, there arose one of the first three Slovak gymnasia. Turčianske Teplice

Turčianske Teplice is spa town in the upper Turiec, 24 km to the south of Martin. From 1971 to Turčianske Teplice were incorporated municipality Diviaky, Lower Štubňa and Turčiansky Michal. Hot Springs was first mentioned in 1281. The village was the Hájska confines, is mentioned in 1351. In 1532 they gained possessions city Kremnica that the local hot springs spa built building.
